Excellence
Joachim Durham - In the 25 Backstroke Joachim used fast, small (but strong) kicks, kept his arms and legs long, thumb out/pinky in, and trusted his count from the flags, and stayed on his back at the finish to earn his first ever swim win!
Maeve McCormick - In the 50 Fly Maeve was behind at the start of the race, but at the turn she drove her knees up into the wall for a fast spin, held a tight streamline with awesome underwater fly kicks on her breakout, to come in the lead after the turn! From there she held her pace and sealed the deal for 1st place.
Kayden Cullen - In the 25 Fly Kayden demonstrated very good kicks on his breakout at the start, was tied the whole way, but at the finish he drove to the wall, never let up, and with outstretched arms, eyes down, out touched his opponent in a photo finish!
Full results are attached.
- PJ25 = Qualified for championships.
- NS = No show
- DQ = Disqualified in that event. The DQ code is often a brief description at the bottom of the event, but if it's not there, I can let you know the most common reasons for DQing in each event if you're interested.
- X = Exhibition. The event counts for participation eligibility at champs (need a qualifying time too), and achieving personal best times, but it does not score points.
See you on deck,
Coach Drake
