48th Annual GPS Invitational

• Date: Saturday, July 13th (NEXT SATURDAY)
• Entry Deadline: Thursday, 7/10, 10:00 pm (we have a meet against Bethlehem that night too)
• Location: Walter's Park Pool

It's a lot of fun with all different types of relays and about ten teams from the region all competing against each other. There are team trophies, individual trophies, medals, and duckies to be won too!! :)

EVENT CHOICE

• Swimmers choose their own individual events online, so please sign-up through our website, gps.swimtopia.com.
• Leave a note for your relay preferences and which individual events you want prioritized.
• Coaches create the relays based upon who signs up.
• Currently, we only have 36 swimmers signed-up, which for a team of 127 is not great. Plus, since it's our meet, we definitely need to have a better showing than this.
• Cost: $5 per event, $6 per swimmer facility surcharge, but spectators are free. We used to charge entrance gate fees for families to watch with no swimmer surcharge, but we changed it because it is less expensive for families and less headache in collecting money and figuring out who is a volunteer, a spectator, a swimmer, a sibling or friend not competing. Payments can be made after entries are finalized. We will do this as a Swimtopia Team Store item after the meet. I'll let you know as soon as I have it set up.
• There ages 19-29 & 30/Over individual 50 free events; they score points for the team and win medals too!! 

Volunteers/Hospitality Donations

• Volunteers - This is all hands on deck, we are the host team. We definitely need people to volunteer to help us run the meet. Please sign-up online.

Pre-Invitational Meet/Tent Set-up: Looking for any parents/swimmers to help setup Friday night, 7/12. Arrive around 6:00pm. We could really use the help.

Two Sessions - Only need to attend and/or volunteer the session your swimmer is in.

• Morning Session, Ages 11/Over, Our warm-up is at 6:45 am, so please have swimmers arrive before that ready to swim (confirmation email will be sent Friday, 7/12).
• Afternoon Session, Ages 10/Under, approximately 12:15 pm warm-up (confirmation email will be sent Friday, 7/12).

Volunteer Details

Obviously, swim meets take many people to run, and since we are hosting, the majority of volunteers should come from us. So, please sign up.

We especially NEED 3-4 people that are comfortable being assertive yet diplomatic in directing traffic, and good at organizing a mental image in your head of how we fit a couple of hundred cars with no lines beyond the parking lot. :)
